After a few contacts and updates, I have a traveling partner! My brother Jerry will travel with me to Ukraine. I'm excited to have him along and know we'll have a good time. Due to a longer passport period, I will be making 2 trips to Ukraine instead of the single one for 4 weeks. The first trip should be right around 3 weeks or a little under. Then I'll return home for a week or so and then fly back for 2 weeks. It's looking like my return trip will be by myself.
So much to do and it'll be here before I know it!

Appointment Day
July 5, 2007:
What a good day today is! :) I took my first step to adopt from Ukraine in May 2005. After updating my dossier 3 times - or was that 4!? - waiting out the Ukraine adoption closure, my dossier was accepted by the SDA 5/21/07. Exactly 6 weeks and three days later, July 5th, 2007, I received an e-mail from my translator that I have an appointment! September 20, 2007 will find me at the SDA in Kiev, Ukraine. It is hard to believe the time has come. I have shared the news but am just letting it all soak in this evening. SO much to do! I still don't have anyone who can travel with me. I need to buy tickets, find someone to house/pet sit, learn Russian, etc...etc....
